Create server rendered React apps with Next.js and a GraphQL backend

We will explore how easy it's to get started building a React app with server rendering, automatic code splitting, styling with CSS-in-JS and an awesome Webpack-based developer experience with Hot module replacement using Next.js. The presentation will be based on rebuilding a personal website with this stack and connecting it to a GraphQL backend.

Andreas Keller (@itsakeller) loves building websites with React and apps with React Native for his employer E-GUMA and different personal projects. He recently started a React Native meetup in Bern and would love to help popularize React in Switzerland.

From git to a running container: automatic application building & deployment

In this talk we will see how to build and deploy any application stack. With the help of gitlab ci/cd we will first build the docker container automatically. Then we push the container into gitlabs own docker registry. And finally, we deploy it with rancher onto any docker host. We will see some of the benefits of the git-gitlab-docker-rancher roudtrip like:

Deployment into different environmentsautomatic routingdeployment of multicontainer applications

Angular Material

Angular Material is official material design component library for Angular (2+). While still at version 2.0.0-beta.8, it already provides great number of polished components out of the box. This enables developers to focus on core business features instead of creating basic components while maintaing flexibility to add what's necessary. Library comes with amazing theming capabilities which enables you to progressively customize way your application looks like. This theming support also really shines in common multitenancy branding use case.

In this talk we're going to explore the whole process of theming as a live coding session. Staring from simple un-themed app to an app with support for multiple custom themes with both Angular Material and custom components.

Tomas Herich (@tomastrajan) - likes to build useful things! It usually involves code & design. Software engineer with many years of experiences on multiple platforms, projects and with many organizations. Always striving to bring as much value as possible. Blogger & occasional speaker with passion for frontend and soft spot for Angular & typescript.

Make your website available offline!

With the new technology called PWA (Progressive Web Application) it's possible to provide websites which are available even when the user has no internet connection. In the talk I will give an introduction how it can be done, why and when benefit of it, including some coding how to setup a PWA.

Stef Käser: Living and coding in Bern. Full stack C#/JS/Angular developer @ SwissPost. Outdoor and travel guy.

"Meteor ist sozusagen Redux mit integrierter, offline fähiger real-time Backend-Synchronisierung." ...really?
